I’m Laura, a UK hair colour educator with 16 years of experience behind the chair and the founder of Science Behind Hairdressing, providing brand-neutral hair colour education for hairdressers.
I believe colour education should teach you how to think, not just what to do. That’s why everything I teach is brand-neutral, science-led and broken down into simple methods, memorable steps and easy-to-digest explanations.
I’m dyslexic myself, so I know first-hand that everyone learns differently. Not everyone learns best from reading textbooks or pages of theory — some of us need to see it, do it, break it down and have a method we can actually remember.
That’s why creating inclusive hairdressing education for different learning styles and abilities is really important to me. I use visual learning, practical demonstrations, hands-on methods and memorable step-by-steps to make hair colour science easier to understand — and actually fun to learn.
I’m here for those “OHHH… now I get it” moments — when something that once felt complicated suddenly clicks, and you’ve got a method you can actually take away and use behind the chair.

Bespoke Hair Colour Education
Hair colour education shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all. Whether you’re a self-employed hairdresser looking for one-to-one colour education or a salon owner looking for bespoke hair colour training for your team, your education can be built around exactly what you need.
You choose the area of colour science you want to focus on and tell me what you’re struggling with right now. From there, I’ll build your education around you — the knowledge you already have, the gaps we need to fill and what you actually need help understanding.
This isn’t a generic course pulled off the shelf. Your education is created specifically for you, around the colour science subject you’ve chosen and the knowledge you’re missing — so no two education sessions need to look the same.
Your bespoke education can be:
