About Science Behind Hairdressing

I’m the founder of Science Behind Hairdressing, where I provide brand-neutral hair colour education for hairdressers.

I’m a little bit obsessed with the WHY behind colour. I don’t want you to copy a formula because it worked on someone else’s client. I want you to understand why the hair lifted to that undercoat, why you chose that tone, and why that formula didn’t work — so you can make those decisions for yourself next time.

That’s why all of my education is brand-neutral. I take colour science that can sometimes feel complicated and turn it into simple, digestible lightbulb moments that you can actually use behind the chair — whatever professional colour brand you work with.

Alongside education, I still work behind the chair at D&L Hair Collective in Tettenhall, Wolverhampton, the salon I co-own with my friend, specialising in blonding and colour correction.

My aim is simple: to make high-quality colour education accessible to the everyday hairdresser — and make colour science finally make sense.
